Fire Suppression Solutions by Sector
From energy, industry, petrochemical, transport, military and public projects to hotels, malls, data centers and hospitals — we design fire suppression and detection tailored to each sector’s risk, compliant with the Turkish Fire Code (BYKHY) and NFPA standards.
Why sector-specific fire protection?
A fire suppression system is not a one-size-fits-all product; it is an engineering solution that changes with thefire load, materials and occupancy class of the protected facility. The needs of a petrochemical refinery and a data center are polar opposites. At A-Pro Engineering we assess each sector’s risk profile against BYKHY and relevant NFPA standards, then design, install and commission the sector-specific solution turnkey.
Energy & industrial facilities
In power plants, transformers, turbines and cable galleries are critical; inindustrial facilities, production lines and high-rack storage carry the risk. Water mist, foam, gas anddetection systems are combined by risk point.
Petrochemical & high risk
Petrochemical and fuel facilitiesare in the highest fire-risk class. Tank farms usefoam suppression, cooling rings and gas detection, engineered to NFPA 11/15/16 and API standards.
Transport, military & public
Metro and tunnels rely on smoke control and linear detection; military installations on munitions and fuel protection; andpublic projects on evacuation scenarios suited to high occupant density.
Solutions by building type
Sensitive gas systems for data centers and hospitals; sprinklers and detection for hotels, malls andfactories; and dry-pipe sprinklers for enclosed car parks — all designed to BYKHY thresholds.
Frequently asked questions
Why does fire suppression system selection differ by sector?
Every sector has a different fire load, hazard class and risk profile. Flammable liquids drive petrochemical design, sensitive electronics drive data centers, and occupant density drives hotels. The right solution is engineered from the site’s risk analysis against the thresholds of the Turkish Fire Code (BYKHY) and relevant NFPA standards.
When is automatic detection mandatory in industrial facilities?
Under BYKHY Annex-7, automatic fire detection is mandatory in industrial buildings exceeding 21.50 m in height or 7,500 m² in enclosed area. The suppression solution is then set by process and storage risk.
Which system is used in data centers and server rooms?
For sensitive spaces damaged by water, clean-agent gas systems (FM200, NOVEC 1230, IG01 Argon) are preferred. Combined with VESDA aspirating early detection, they suppress fire without residue and without risking continuous operation.
Are sprinklers mandatory in enclosed car parks?
Under the Turkish Fire Code, automatic sprinklers are mandatory in enclosed car parks with more than 20 vehicles or over 500 m². In freeze-prone spaces a dry-pipe system is used.
Which sectors does A-Pro serve?
