With the spread of electric vehicles, fire risk in enclosed car parks has increased. The 1 July 2025 amendment made automatic detection mandatory in enclosed car parks; sprinklers and smoke ventilation are designed as an integrated system.
How it works
Automatic Detection (Mandatory)
The 1 July 2025 amendment made automatic fire detection mandatory in enclosed car parks.
Sprinkler Requirement
Sprinklers are mandatory in enclosed car parks exceeding 600 m² OR taking more than 10 vehicles via vehicle lift (Article 96).
Smoke Ventilation
Jet-fan and mechanical smoke extraction keep escape routes clear and ease intervention.
EV Charging Risk
Dedicated detection and suppression measures against increased thermal-runaway risk in EV charging zones.
