Water Spray & Cooling
Fixed water spray for suppression, cooling and exposure protection
Overview
Water spray systems use directed spray from special nozzles to suppress, cool and protect equipment from adjacent fire. Designed per NFPA 15 for high-risk equipment such as transformers, tanks and cable galleries.
How it works
Directed Spray
Open nozzles cover the entire protected surface simultaneously (deluge principle).
Cooling & Exposure Protection
Protects adjacent tanks/equipment from heat, preventing fire spread.
Flammable Liquids & Equipment
Effective on transformers, generators, fuel tanks and cable galleries.
Deluge Actuation
A detection-opened deluge valve activates the system instantly.
Frequently asked questions
How does water spray differ from sprinklers?+
Water spray covers the whole surface at once via open nozzles, usually for cooling/exposure protection; sprinklers open individually by heat.
Why protect transformers with water spray?+
An oil transformer fire needs both suppression and cooling to protect adjacent equipment from heat; water spray provides both.
